Ramona Fay SchausSeptember 5, 1928 ~ April 5, 2017 (age 88)
Ramona Fay Johnson Schaus passed away in the loving arms of her family on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 into the arms of her husband Glenn, who she married on June 21, 1947. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing on February 12, 2008. Ramona was born in Curtiss, WI on September 5, 1928. She moved to Kaukauna with her husband and 3 small daughters in December 1952.
Ramona loved her work as a waitress at various restaurants in Kaukauna. Eventually she bought and ran the Villa restaurant on 2nd street in Kaukauna from 1967 to 1977. She then drove school bus for Swinkles of Freedom and worked at Shopko in Kimberly.
Ramona loved to sew making dresses for her daughters, very often dressing them the same. She loved to sew quilts and made many beautiful crocheted things for family and friends. She had a beautiful voice that she used to sing at weddings and funerals and with the Sweet Adelines. Ramona and Glenn loved to travel after their retirement, especially Texas in the cold winters.
She is survived by her children: Ethel (Tim) Greiner, Nancy (Rick) VandenOever, Linda and Brian Lieb; 10 grandchildren: Dawn, Mick, Janell, Ryan, Gigi, Kate, Rachel, Jason, Jeremy, and CimKesha; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Sharon Brecke and Iris (Earl) Schizchke.
Family waiting to welcome her into heaven with Jesus, parents, Jake and Lucy Johnson, her husband, Glenn, grandson, Chad Pieters, brother, Lyle and Anita Johnson, sister, Carol and Joe Bochnia, brother-in-law, Mike Brecke; in-laws: Charlie and Exxie Schaus, Lawrence and Bertha Schaus, Loretta and Albert Marschke, Gladys Gustafson, Ethel Mueller, niece, Joyce and nephew, William Marschke.
Funeral services for Ramona will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Pastor Levi Willms officiating.
