Gary “Chad” Chadwick, 68, Kaukauna, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born on January 21, 1950 in Marshall, Wisconsin, the oldest son of the late Clayton and Virginia (Kohl) Chadwick. Gary was a talented musician playing drums in the high school band. After high school Gary joined the Armed Forces and served in Vietnam from 1969-1971.

Gary’s most recent job had been with Ledgeview Excavating until medical problems forced his early retirement. He loved hunting, fishing and playing cards with his friends. He had a passion for birds, feeding them and building birdhouses for the 1000 Island Environment Center.

Gary was a lifelong member of the River Valley Sportsmans Club. He was also Commander of the Post 436 American Legion.

Gary is survived by his siblings: Jo (Bob) Rotzenberg, Greenleaf, Rick (Kay) Chadwick, Greenleaf, Bobbi Chadwick and Mary Young, Appleton, Patty (Dennis) Schueller, Tennessee, Lori Dix (Bill), Kaukauna, and Deanna (Kevin) Agen, South Carolina. He is further survived by an uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and by good friends Donny Martin and John Kline.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Ginny; Aunts: Dorothy (Bob) Thompson, Carol Dahnke, Lois (Donald) Prochnow and Darlene (Jerry) McLeod; Uncle Eugene (Irene) Kohl and brother-in-law William DeKleyn.

Memorial services will be held at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:00 pm with Deacon Steve Vande Hey presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Military rites will take place immediately following services at the funeral home. Gary’s family would like to thank the Kaukauna paramedics, fire and police for their quick response, compassion and care in treating their brother. Thanks also to the staff and residents at Roundhouse Manor for being Gary’s second family.
