Martha A. (Edler) Marcheske

March 10, 1918 ~ February 13, 2018 (age 99)

Martha A. Marcheske, age 99, Village of Howards Grove, WI, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was born on March 10, 1918, near Underhill, WI, daughter of the late Fred and Matilda Edler. Martha and her husband, Walter, farmed in the Seymour area from 1945 to 1957.  They then moved to a farm in the Sherwood area.  While farming, they also ran a small grocery store in Neenah for several years. Martha also worked as a waitress at North Shore Golf Course.  She was head cook at Harrison Elementary School and later was a cook at Kaukauna High School. In 1975 at the age of 57 she received her GED.  Then her real estate License and her Notary Republic.  She was very successful as a real estate agent.

Martha had several hobbies including sewing (which was her favorite), cooking, ceramics, and building wooden toys such as barns, doll houses, wind mills, wooden fences and bread boards. She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide. In 2012, at the age of 94, Martha moved to Harvest Home Assisted Living in Howards Grove where she receive excellent care and lots of love from those around her.

She is survived by two sons, James Marcheske, Robert Marcheske, a daughter Marilyn (Myron) Hafele, a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hetchler, 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Marcheske, Jeff (Anita) Marcheske, Beth Ann (Travis) Kraft, Daniel (Lara) Marcheske, Brent (Jennifer) Hafele, Craig (Ashly) Hafele, and 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Adeline Ott, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, daughter-in-law, Judy Marcheske, a brother, Ed Edler, and a sister, Ruth Edler.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 804 Grignon St., Kaukauna, with Pastor David Fleischmann and Pastor Aaron Mueller co-officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established to the American Heart Association.
